Emmanuel Kayanja is a highly accomplished partnerships executive and social entrepreneur with extensive experience in organizational development, partnerships, and relations management. As a visionary leader with a strong focus on early literacy, business, public management, and civic leadership, Emmanuel has consistently demonstrated his ability to create sustainable growth strategies and inspire diverse teams.
With a proven track record in mobilizing sales, improving program and project standards, and leading teams, Emmanuel is recognized for his exceptional leadership, coordination abilities, and innovative approach to business development. His expertise spans business startup, marketing, networking, and developing successful marketing strategies and campaigns. Driven by a passion for entrepreneurship, Emmanuel is committed to addressing global challenges such as unemployment, poor education, poverty, public health, and ineffective leadership.
Emmanuel has actively participated in numerous entrepreneurship ventures, both as a trainer and entrepreneur, particularly in education, communication, and business incubation. His work with youth and small enterprise development programs has given him extensive knowledge in leadership, small-scale business incubation, and capacity building.
Over the years, Emmanuel has made significant contributions to mentorship programs globally. He mentored four refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, and South Sudan as part of the Stanford University EdX Entrepreneurship Program in 2023. That same year, he participated in the African Matters Initiative’s SheTechs Program, mentoring participants in Malawi, and in 2022, he guided the Promad Foundation from Nigeria in fundraising and resource mobilization through Donors for Africa’s GE’DA Digital program. Emmanuel has also actively supported mentorship initiatives for young women through Girls Must in Uganda in 2023.
Emmanuel’s dedication to continuous learning and professional growth is evident in his extensive educational background and training. He completed the Chartered Management Institute’s Management and Leadership Training and the U.S. Mission Uganda’s Public Management and Leadership Program in 2023. He also earned a certificate from Kizo Africa’s Disruptive Digital Decade course in 2021, a Trainer of Trainers qualification from Enlight Academy in 2019, and a leadership certificate from the Uganda National Leadership Center in Kyankwanzi in 2019. Additionally, Emmanuel holds certificates from Barclays Ready to Work (2017), the YALI Leadership Skills Development Course (2017), and Mbarara University of Science and Technology’s Certificate in Computer Applications.
As a member of prestigious organizations, including the Makerere University Innovation and Incubation Center (MIIC), Uganda Youth Coalition for SDGs, and Draw a Smile Uganda, Emmanuel actively contributes to community development and collaborates with like-minded individuals and institutions.
His accomplishments include raising significant resources in human and financial capital for the Read to Learn Foundation within two years, mentoring businesses, and serving as the Executive Director of Sanity Hub Uganda, a mental health solutions platform. He has also held leadership roles managing entrepreneurship projects that have impacted thousands of youth nationwide and engaged with high-level stakeholders at the national level.
Currently, Emmanuel serves as the Business Development and Partnerships Manager at Read to Learn Foundation and is the Co-Founder of Book Drive Store, a sustainability model for the foundation that publishes storybooks and toys for children. His prior experience as a Business Support Associate at Challenges Worldwide Uganda, under the UK Government’s ICS-DFID program, further enriched his expertise in nurturing businesses from their early stages.
With a combination of leadership skills, entrepreneurial acumen, and a deep commitment to serving humanity with integrity, Emmanuel continues to make a significant impact in his community and beyond. As a member of EduAfrik’s Advisory Council, Emmanuel brings his wealth of experience and innovative ideas to advance the organization’s mission of empowering African scholars and communities.
