Events

2025 Memorial Day

To mark the 2025 Memorial Day, Education African Scholars Global Connect (EASGC) hosted a podcast featuring a Nigerian graduate of the University of Georgia and our 2024 Personal Travel Allowance (PTA) Scholarship recipient.

The event was specifically hosted to reflect on the significance of the Memorial Day celebration in the United States. It also provided an opportunity for the guest speaker to share his experiences growing up, discuss his time as a graduate student in the U.S., outline the impact of his academic achievements on the U.S. legal field, explain how the PTA scholarship awarded to him facilitated his transition to the U.S., describe his post-graduation plans, and offer advice to aspiring international students.

Immigration Strategies for F1 Students: EB-1 and EB-2 NIW Explained

The EB-1 and EB-2 NIW are employment-based visas for individuals with extraordinary abilities or with advanced degrees. They allow foreign nationals to live and work permanently in the US.

In May 2025, we invited a licensed attorney to educate African scholars about these opportunities.

You will learn how to:
✅ Prove EB-1A “extraordinary ability” criteria   through awards, publications, or original contributions
✅ Demonstrate your work’s “substantial merit” and “national importance” for EB-2 NIW.
✅ Avoid costly mistakes.
✅ Access helpful resources.
