December 2025 marked a major milestone for Education African Scholars Global Connect as we celebrated five years of service, impact, and commitment to advancing access to global education opportunities for African scholars.

AI-Driven Careers: How the Future of Work Should Shape YourChoice of Graduate Study

International Education Week (IEW) is a global celebration of the benefits of international education and exchange, co-hosted annually by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. In November, Education African Scholars Global Connect marked the 2025 International Education Week by hosting a high-level panel discussion that brought together six accomplished professionals and scholars from diverse fields. The panel explored the theme “AI-Driven Careers: How the Future of Work Should Shape Your Choice of Graduate Study.”The discussion examined how artificial intelligence is transforming the labor market, redefining skills in demand, and influencing academic and career decision-making for students and early-career professionals. Panelists shared practical insights, sector-specific perspectives, and personal experiences to help participants better align their graduate study choices with the evolving future of work. Pathway to the UK: Applying for the Global Talent Visa

The UK Global Talent Visa provides a pathway for exceptional individuals in academia, research, and innovation to live and work in the United Kingdom without employer sponsorship.

In August, we invited Andrew Nwanakwaugwu, a UK Global Talent Visa recipient, to educate African scholars on how to successfully navigate this opportunity. He explained the end-to-end application process, clarified common misconceptions, and emphasized that applicants do not need to be in the UK before applying—applications can be submitted from anywhere in the world.

In this session, he shared practical, experience-based guidance on how to prepare a strong application and position oneself for success.

In July, to commemorate the 2025 U.S. Independence Day, our Founder hosted a special podcast conversation with Brian Joanis, Assistant Village Administrator of the Village of Roselle, and Isaiah C. Samuel, a political scientist and beneficiary of Education African Scholars Global Connect. Both guests are alumni of Northern Illinois University.

How to Win a Fully-Funded Scholarship in South Korea

In June, we invited Emmanuel Mbama, a beneficiary of EduAfrik and a recipient of a fully funded South Korean scholarship, to share his journey and practical guidance. Our organization also supported Emmanuel in raising the flight ticket funds he used to travel to South Korea.

In this session, he explained the step-by-step process for winning the scholarship and clearly outlined the key documents applicants need to prepare.

I am from Ghana. I obtained my 1st degree in Biotechnology and Molecular biology at the University for Development Studies Ghana. Afterwards, I worked for about three years as an Assistant Technical Officer in the soil science laboratory of Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana.
