Charles Obochi

Charles Obochi is a seasoned academic and human resources professional with over 15 years of experience in leadership, management development, and human resource training across both the public and private sectors. He currently serves as a Lecturer at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria—where he teaches and conducts research in the Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.
In addition to his academic role, Charles is the Executive Director and Program Coordinator at Global Management Resource Centre Limited. In this capacity, he leads human capital development initiatives for a diverse range of organizations throughout Nigeria. His expertise includes designing and delivering training programs in organizational development, HR management practices, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Public Administration and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration and Local Government, which he completed with distinction. He is currently advancing his research as a PhD candidate at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.
A lifelong learner and global professional, Charles has participated in international training sessions, seminars, and conferences in destinations such as Accra, Ghana; Dubai, UAE; Banjul, The Gambia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Pretoria, South Africa; and Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. These global experiences have enriched his perspective, enabling him to integrate diverse insights into his work in human resources and organizational development.
Charles is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and the Human Resource Certification Institute in the USA. He has played a pivotal role in capacity-building efforts for prominent Nigerian institutions such as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Federal Ministry of Interior, and the Petroleum Equalization Fund.
Guided by integrity, fairness, and a commitment to continuous learning, Charles has made impactful contributions both academically and in the field of human resources. He brings invaluable insights and leadership to EduAfrik’s Advisory Council, helping to shape the organization’s vision of empowering African scholars and communities.
