Obinna Franklin Ezeibekwe

Obinna Franklin Ezeibekwe is a Ph.D. student in economics and statistics at Northern Illinois University. He works as a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Economics, conducting recitations, holding office hours, and grading assignments. Additionally, he has a master’s degree in economics from Eastern Illinois University, USA, and a bachelor’s degree (first-class honors) in economics from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. His career goal is to work as an economist in the industry.
Obi’s research interest is applied econometrics (causal inference and time series econometrics), and his research uses appropriate econometric and statistical methods to answer economic and business questions. He has written and published four single-authored peer-reviewed economics research papers with 25+ citations. His current research explores how institutions and regulations affect small businesses in Nigeria. His interest includes economic research, data analysis, international development, technology and innovation, volunteering, and mentorship. He loves watching and playing soccer (a Real Madrid fan) and doing other outdoor activities, hanging out with family and friends, sightseeing, playing video games, listening to music, watching TV series, and others.
